| Heather Wood
Whether she is working with textiles, glass, wood or canvas, Heather Wood is always using her intuition in combination with color, line and form to express herself. Both her sculptural and functional glass gives a voice to her visual ideas. Painting with vitreous enamels, sandblasting, slumping and fusing are some of the techniques Wood utilizes in her response to the transparency and fluidity of glass. Heather graduated with an Honours Bachelor Fine Arts with a specialization in sculpture from the University of Waterloo. She has also attended Sheridan College where she obtained a diploma in Textile Arts and Georgian College of Applied Arts where she obtained a diploma in Design Arts. As a partner in the Thorn Glass Studio for over 20 years, Wood participated as an exhibitor at the 'One of a Kind Craft Show', as well as 'Fair November' in Guelph and recently at the 'The Moose Show'. The Toronto Outdoor Show, and The Home Country Craft Show in London were two shows that she took part in. Heather now lives and works at her glass studio in Elora, Ontario where she creates her unique artwork. |
